► Background

Wanda, a highly intelligent woman well versed in the study of astronomy. Ever since she was a child, she always was hypnotized by the night sky and its beauty. The stars lining the very fabric of her reality created a twinkling ocean of endless wonder and possibility just beyond her grasp. Yet close enough that she could gaze upon it every night. She would spend years studying and learning about each one, and it filled her with great joy to do so.

One day she acquired one of the best telescopes she could get, and upon taking it home and setting it up she would spend countless hours sitting outside looking through the glass and up into the sky above. She would do this alongside her lover at the time, Bosh. Who wasn't always as enthralled by the stars, but enjoyed seeing them nonetheless. Later she would look upon the sky holding her newborn child in her arms, describing to her all the different stars, the constellations, and the galaxies beyond. However on that particular night, something caught Wanda's eye. She set her child down beside her, and once more looked into the telescope. Positioning it just right when suddenly… Wanda caught a glimpse of something she perhaps shouldn't have seen. Before she could even comprehend what she saw, her eye was immediately met with a huge burst of light and heat. Which would badly wound Wanda, costing her the eye she was looking into the telescope with. Ever since that day, she began to get intense nightmares, and daily visions of things she could not recognize or describe. What she could make out of it however, were strange messages in an unknown language seemingly instructing her to do certain things. It frightened her at first, but then over time, she began to get used to them.

Bosh began to notice as time went on, Wanda acting very differently. She barely slept, and was constantly doing very out of character, and downright strange things. One day, he returned home to discover that their child was left sitting in the same spot he saw her last before leaving for the day. She was distressed as well and was very evidently not cared for properly. This created a sort of mental break in Bosh as he mentally began to accept that something has happened, and the Wanda he knew was not there. He would not bother even trying to find and confront her, and instead opted to take his daughter and leave. Bosh would go on to develop a sort of trauma response in the wake of all this. As he now claims that nothing bad ever happened between them, that they simply parted amicably. It is believed this is a coping mechanism however, and not the truth of the matter. Despite what he tells even his daughter.

That day, Wanda was in a different room of the home entirely, and by that point, was totally consumed by the voices in her head. They counseled her and understood how to help her with what she saw. Bringing her closer to understanding even just a fraction of what she now knew to be The Truth. With her body seemingly under some kind of external control, she used various materials around her to construct a wand. Which she then held up and gazed upon with her remaining eye. As she uttered a series of words she had never heard before. The next thing she knew, the wand surged with energy, and fluctuated between three different elements. Ice, Fire and Chaos. Represented by energies of blue, orange and purple colors respectively. Wanda then had another vision, and ran straight to the room her daughter remained, as she held a hand over her, imbuing her with the same magical power. Afterward, she fled the home and soon after, Bosh would arrive.

Wanda would not be seen again by anyone for years until she one day suddenly appeared at the home of her sister, Meryl. Who saw before her, a ragged disheveled looking version of her older sister that she did not recognize. Nor could she understand a word she was trying to say, with what appeared to be her only remaining eye completely consumed with a void like color. After a rather confusing one sided discussion, Wanda appeared to get somewhat agitated, and weakly held a hand up to the forehead of her younger sister. Bestowing upon her the same magical abilities she did to her own daughter years prior and handing her a staff she was holding at the time. Now having an ability of her own, Meryl found herself able to use the staff to create copies of other lifeforms, and noticed that when she looked through the gem atop her staff that it revealed the lifeform she was currently looking at, and that is when she realized that there was something far more wrong with Wanda than she thought. Meryl reluctantly decided to quickly open her sister's eye socket to find an alien looking parasite that had attached itself to her. Which was promptly removed and destroyed.

Within minutes Wanda could feel her mind returning towards something closer to normal. She was unfortunately permanently scarred and changed by the experience in many ways. Even though the voices and visions have ceased, what remains from the experience is a shattered and debilitated Wanda who asked Meryl about Bosh and their daughter, Bash. To which she said she had not seen or heard from them in a long time. Wanda, despite everything, still finds some joy in looking up at the stars above.

The pair of sisters would eventually decide that a good way to get Wanda's mind off the situation would be to try testing their powers out in an Arena that Meryl had recently heard about that was opening soon. Wanda would be selected to start in the trial run Season, with Meryl joining in the first official Season. By the time of the third season, The Grand Ball Cup, Wanda and Meryl would team up as the Wicked Sisters, but evidently Wanda's recovery was still having an effect on things, and Meryl's relatively brief time with her powers resulted in them going out without a single win.

During this time it would be discovered by all that Bosh, Bash, Wanda and Meryl were all in this same Arena's roster of combatants. Bosh shut down immediately and has not made any contact with Wanda still. Bash on the other hand, was elated to see her mother again after so many years. Standing before Wanda was a woman she had never seen before, as the last time she ever saw her daughter was not long after she was born. However, she looked into her daughter's eyes and for a brief moment, the memories from before the incident all came flooding back, and the two embraced in a moment of rather intense emotions. Bash then asked her mother if she would be willing to be on a team with her and her new boyfriend for the upcoming Boss Gauntlet. As he would attempt to introduce himself, Wanda would be startled by his sudden presence in her field of vision, sending a bolt of fire his way, promptly setting him ablaze, before Wanda eventually was able to extinguish him by freezing him and eventually it melted away. Despite the shenanigans, the three still agreed to become a team for the Gauntlet.

► Abilities & Traits
Magic Wand
Weapon

Wanda's wand allows her to cast three different kinds of spells: a standard damaging spell, a freezing ice spell, and a burning fire spell.

Spells
Active

Using her knowledge of magic, Wanda fires standard purple spell attacks that deal 14 damage per hit and home in on her opponent. Each shot carries roughly a 15% chance to instead fire either an ice spell that freezes the opponent for 3 seconds dealing 6 damage on impact, or a fire spell that applies burning damage over time dealing 8 damage on impact. Standard spells no longer destroy upon hitting a wall.

Aim
Passive

Wanda actively orients her wand toward her opponent, keeping her spell fire directed rather than scattering at random.
